What is the iCORN.com $30,000 Seeds of Knowledge video contest?
It’s a video contest in which iCORN.com customers nominate students who make videos to compete for a share of $30,000 for higher education. Each farmer who nominates a winning student wins a corresponding share of $30,000 worth of free iCORN.com seed (farmer’s choice of available products).

How does it work?
Students upload a video (up to 90 seconds in length) to the SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO page on this website. The video can be silly, touching, sad, hilarious, dramatic—as long as it’s appropriate, almost anything goes. Once iCORN.com posts the videos, popular vote will determine the top 3 winners. First place receives $20,000, second place receives $7,500 and third place receives $2,500. As a bonus, the farmer nominating each winner receives the corresponding cash value in free iCORN.com corn or soybean seed (farmer’s choice of available products).

Why is iCORN.com doing this?
It’s a meaningful way of supporting our customers and giving back to the communities we serve. Plus, we want to get people talking about iCORN.com. With this contest, everybody wins!

What do farmers have to do?
All they do is nominate a student by visiting the NOMINATE A STUDENT page on this website. For their best chance to win, though, farmers will want to encourage friends, family, acquaintances and contacts from work, church, etc., to vote for their student’s video. Anyone can vote by visiting the WATCH VIDEOS page on this website.

What do students have to do?
Students have the fun part—making the video. Each video must be no longer than 90 seconds. Beyond that, the content is limited only by the student’s imagination and the RULES.

Which students are eligible?
Any student age 14 or older as of Sept. 1, 2008, who resides in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan or Wisconsin who makes and enters a video complying with the RULES is eligible. Each participating student must be nominated by an iCORN.com customer. An iCORN.com customer includes anyone who has ever purchased seed from iCORN.com. (Not an iCORN.com customer? Each iCORN.com customer may nominate up to 5 students—even their own children and/or relatives. iCORN.com customers can nominate multiple students, but each student must produce his/her own video.

Does the winner have to attend a particular college?
No. Each winning share of the $30,000 prize money can be applied toward tuition and/or education-related expenses at any post-secondary educational institution, including four-year colleges, community colleges, technical schools and other educational organizations.
